How a storage unit cleanout works
Send a photo of the open unit. That is almost always enough for a firm price. Tell us the facility, the unit number, and the gate code or the hours the office is open.
We meet you there or go alone if you have given us access. Everything you want stays in one corner or goes in your car. Everything else goes on the trailer. Usable furniture and household goods go to Goodwill of Central Virginia or the Habitat ReStore. The rest goes to the county facility. Most units take under an hour, and you can close the account the same afternoon.
Why people finally do this
The math. A ten-by-ten unit at a Richmond facility is well over a thousand dollars a year, and most of what is in it was not worth that the first year. One trailer trip ends the bill.
