About

Two people, one truck, a real price by text

Richmond-owned and family-run. The person who texts you the price is the person who shows up.

Who we are

Salem Junk Removal is run by Mohammad Salem, out of Richmond. It is a small operation on purpose: one crew, one trailer, and a phone number that a person answers. No call center, no franchise fee, no fuel surcharge.

The whole business works off one idea. You text a photo, you get a real price back within the hour, and that is the number you pay. Most of what is wrong with junk removal is the surprise on the driveway. We took the surprise out.

How we work

Every job starts with a photo. We price it, we agree on a window, and we show up in it. We load, sweep, and send you photos when we are done, so you do not have to be home if you would rather not be.

Before anything goes to a landfill, it gets a second chance. Furniture and building materials go to the Habitat ReStore. Household goods go to Goodwill of Central Virginia. Small items and pet supplies go to the Richmond SPCA thrift. Metal goes to a recycler. What is left goes to the county facility for your address, and we pay the fee.

Where we work

The city of Richmond and the counties around it: Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover, plus Goochland and Powhatan for bigger jobs. Each area has its own page with the local details, because a Fan rowhouse and a Powhatan barn are not the same job.

Licensed and insured

In Virginia, both. If your building, HOA or property manager wants a certificate of insurance, ask and we send it the same day.

Why the name

Salem is the owner's family name. We are in Richmond, not the town of Salem near Roanoke, and every page on this site says so, in case you were wondering.

No obligation. A person, not a bot, texts you back.

  • One firm price, not an estimate.
