What Goochland jobs look like
Goochland is where the West End runs out and the farms start. The east end of the county, Manakin-Sabot, Kinloch and West Creek, is large-lot houses with workshops, three-car garages and pool houses. West of Centerville it is acreage with barns and pole sheds that have been collecting for generations.
Both give us big jobs. A workshop cleanout in Manakin-Sabot is a full trailer of old tools, lumber and half-finished projects. A barn in Hadensville is two or three loads, and a good part of it is scrap metal and usable equipment that never sees a landfill.
Where your stuff goes
Goochland residents can use the county’s convenience centers for household bulk. Our loads go across a commercial scale and pay by weight, and that is built into the number we text you.
On the way back toward Richmond we pass the Goodwill on West Broad and can route through the Habitat ReStore, so furniture, fixtures and household goods get dropped there first. On a barn job, scrap metal goes to a recycler, and that can be a real fraction of what comes out.

Things to know before you text
