How downsizing help works
Start with photos of the rooms and a note about what is going to the new place. We text back one price for clearing everything that is not.
On the day, we work room by room. Items headed to the new home are left exactly where they are, or moved to one staging area if that helps the mover. Everything else is sorted: donation, recycling, disposal. We do not throw away anything that looks personal without asking.
When we are done, the house is broom-clean and the family has one less thing on the list.
Working with families
Most downsizing calls come from an adult child, often from another city, trying to get a parent moved before a date. We are used to being the local hands for that. We can meet a sibling at the house, work with a senior move manager, or take direction by phone. Photos go to whoever booked us.
Retirement communities in the area
Moving into a community in Henrico, Chesterfield or the West End usually means going from a full house to a two-bedroom apartment. The furniture that does not fit is the bulk of what we haul, and most of it is solid and goes straight to the ReStore. We think that matters.
