What Chester jobs look like
Chester is older Chesterfield. The houses along Route 10 and around Chester Old Town go back to the fifties and sixties, the lots are bigger than the north end, and there is almost always a shed or a detached garage. That combination gives us estate cleanouts, outbuilding teardowns, and the forty-year garage. Rivers Bend and Meadowville are newer and look more like Midlothian: garages, playsets and furniture.
Estate work is the most common kind of Chester call. A parent’s house, a sale date, and a house that has not been thinned out since the seventies.
Where your stuff goes
The Southern Area Convenience Center on Landfill Drive is in Chester, minutes from most of the addresses we serve here, and open seven days a week. That is our last stop. Residents can use it for their own household loads, and it is a good deal if you have the truck.
The first stop is the Habitat ReStore on Mall Drive for furniture, cabinets and fixtures, and Goodwill for household goods. On an estate cleanout, sorting out what is usable is real work, and we do it, because a house full of solid wood furniture should not go to a landfill.
